Pumpkin Cottage in Youlgrave
Youlgrave is nestled on the hillside just above where the beautiful Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale meet. Three long-distance paths pass through the village, the Alternative Pennine Way, the Limestone Way and the White Peak Way, making it ideal for walkers. The perfect base to visit all the attractions the Peak District has to offer. Close by to the High Peak Trail, Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Carsington Water, Buxton and Castleton, all can be easily visited by a short car journey.
Friendly shops and welcoming pubs can be found in Youlgrave village. There is a regular bus service.
Pumpkin Cottage is over 200 years old and exudes charm and character. It is well-equipped and has a nice enclosed garden, making it very safe for dogs and children, complete with patio furniture. The cottage is centrally heated and has a lounge/dining room with beams, tastefully furnished with two comfy sofas, dining table and chairs and a log burner. The kitchen has everything you could need including fridge, electric cooker and microwave, etc. An outbuilding next to the kitchen houses a washing machine. The stairs off the kitchen lead to a central landing to 2 bedrooms, both with a double bed and access to a modern bathroom.
For your entertainment we have Broadband, TV and CD/Radio. We welcome well behaved dogs. We ask that visitors do not smoke in the cottage.
To enhance your stay further we provide nice cotton bed linen, fluffy white towels, plus many essential extras. On arrival the necessities to make a nice pot tea/coffee are provided, and for those who need something a bit stronger after their journey, you find a nice bottle of 'red' awaiting. If you are likely to arrive after the shops have closed, we will be pleased to shop for 'essentials' for you, so that you can relax immediately. Please request a provisions list at the time of booking.
