Our gorgeous Dog Friendly self catering holiday cottage located in Youlgrave, Derbyshire, in the very heart of the wonderful Peak District. Family run, with no addition fees.
Youlgrave is nestled on the hillside – just above where the Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale meet. Three long-distance paths pass through the village, the Alternative Pennine Way, the Limestone Way and the White Peak Way – making it ideal for walkers. The perfect base to visit all the attractions the Peak District has to offer. Close by to the High Peak Trail, Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Carsington Water, Buxton and Castleton can all be easily visited by a short car journey.
Friendly shops and welcoming pubs can be found in Youlgrave village. There is also a regular bus service.
Pumpkin Cottage is a over 200 years old , full of character and charm. We have a lounge/dining room with beams, comfortable and tastefully furnished with two sofas, dining table and chairs and a log burner for those cosy nights in. Centrally heated throughout The kitchen has everything you could need, including a fridge, electric cooker, toaster and microwave, etc. An outbuilding next to the kitchen houses a washing machine (and storage for bikes if needed) The stairs off the kitchen lead to a central landing to 2 bedrooms – both with a double bed and access to a modern bathroom.
For your entertainment we have excellent broadband and TV with a good selection of channels. We ask that visits to not smoke in the cottage.
To enhance your stay further we provide quality feather duvets , 100% cotton bed linen, nice fluffy towels, plus many essential extras. On arrival the necessities to make a nice pot of tea/coffee are provided, and for those who want something a bit stronger after their journey, you find a nice bottle of ‘red’ (or white, just state your preference) awaiting. If you are likely to arrive after the shops have closed, we will be please to shop for essentials for you, so that you can relax immediately. Please request an essentials list at the time of booking.
We have a nice enclosed garden, making it very safe for children and dogs. With outdoor seating, suitable for alfresco dining.
